Grammy award-winning gem, Doechii, has reflected on her childhood trauma that pushed her into suicidal thoughts.
Speaking to Lace, Doechi discussed her early beginning, including how she came up with her stage name, Doechii.
Admitting not to reveal more detail about her early life struggles, Doechii opined to have suffered bullying to the point of considering committing suicide.
However, in the toll of this, relieve would emerge at the peak of discovering herself. This featured having to realize that Killing herself yields no significant, also, her bullies won’t get hurt like she does, concluding that there will be no need for her death.
In line with her decision, she confessed finding herself and stage name “Doechii,” which helped in desisting her from her suicidal thoughts.
Her words:
“I don’t want to get super-dark [but] I was getting bullied so bad that I was thinking about killing myself,” she told the publication, who noted that God told her to write down the phrase “I am Doechii.”
“I realized, Oh, fuck, I’m gonna kill myself and then I’m gonna be the only one dead. The bullies aren’t gonna be with me, and everything they said is not coming with me either. I would just be gone,”
“And then I was like, Fuck that! Fuck that shit! I’m not going for that! And this wash of peace came over me, and I received ‘I am Doechii.’
Contrary, Doechii is dinning in her peak currently, debuting in the history of Grammy annual award after clinching her first Grammy plaque in the category of ‘BEST RAP ALBUM’ with her outstanding album “Alligator Bites Never Heals”
