In recent buzz, Atlanta head coach fumed over Lookman’s penalty miss when they were on the verge of exiting UEFA Champions League while trailing 5-2 in aggregate against Club Brugge.

Despite Lookman’s instant dominance, making a second half appearance, and scoring to boast Atlanta’s optinism, Gian Piero Gasperini in his emotion, ridiculed Lookman, identifying him as the worst penalty taker he has ever seen in his career.

“Lookman wasn’t supposed to take the penalty. He’s one of the worst penalty takers I’ve ever seen,” Gasperini said. “Even in training, he has a very low percentage; he kicks them really badly. He wanted to take the penalty after scoring a goal. He took the ball despite [Mateo] Retegui and [Charles] De Ketelaere being available. I didn’t like what Lookman did.”

In response, Lookman expressed his displeasure in a bold statement while further acknowledging the club. With the star linked to Atlanta’s exit, Gian Piero Gasperini also cleared that he didn’t mean to demean Lookman by labeling him as the worst penalty taker. However, he imposed improvement as his only concern.

Forward to date, Lookman scored a brace, helping Atlanta clinch 5-0 victory against Empoli. Sealing his approach to the game, Ademola Lookman captioned his relieve on X.
