More legal troubles ensue for Lil Durk as the family of Saviay’a Robinson slams him with a wrongful death lawsuit following the alleged murder-for-hire attempt on Quando Rondo’s life in 2022.
Lil Durk has been facing a legal battle for allegedly masterminding the murder attempt made on Quando Rondo in 2022, which in turn claimed the life of Saviay’a Robinson who was in the company of Quando Rondo during the hit.
According to Warren Postman, who is the attorney of Saviay’a Robinson’s family, the lawsuit seeks compensation from Lil Durk to assuage the devastation the untimely death caused to their community.
“The premature loss of Mr Robinson has devastated his family and community. We filed this lawsuit to hold those responsible accountable and to ensure his family receives the support they need during this difficult time,” he said.
Lil Durk was originally apprehended in October 2024 and charged with alleged murder-for-hire on Quando Rondo as revenge for the killing of his friend and fellow Chicago rapper, King Von.
King Von was shot and killed in 2020 during an altercation in Atlanta with Quando Rondo’s crew.
Even though Lil Durk has pleaded not guilty to the murder-for-hire allegations, he has remained in detention as every attempt to bail him has proven abortive. The U.S. Magistrate Judge Patricia Donahue who is in charge of the case has admitted that Lil Durk may not have pulled the trigger, however, due to the enormous influence and control he has over others, his release will be detrimental to the community.
“I find that there is no condition or combination of conditions that will reasonably assure the safety of the community. The allegations are not that the defendant personally pulled the trigger. The allegations are that the defendant exercises a significant amount of control over others,” the judge said.
