Tiwa Savage made a shocking revelation on why she can’t sign artists, unveils next plan

Everyone has strengths and weaknesses despite not always portraying them or making them so glaring to the public. The multiple award-winning Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has revealed why signing upcoming artists is not part of her strengths despite her philanthropic and benevolent disposition towards people.

The “African baddest gyal” speaking during a recent interview with Forbes Africa said she is not gifted in grooming and managing upcoming artists due to the stress involved and the fear of the unknown.

The Diva recounts some of her fears including waking up in the morning to see his signee trending for the wrong reason. The single mother of one further said she would rather build a music school to help nurture and refine upcoming artists and give them the leverage to be signed by any label that deems them fit.

“Everyone always asks when are you going to sign an artist. I don’t think I have the gift to sign artists because they are stressful. I could just wake up from sleep and my artiste is trending for something else.

“But I have the gift to help, which is why I’m trying to have a music school, where artists can go and later sign to a label that can actually help,’’ she said.

Tiwa Savage is undoubtedly one of the most successful artists in Africa. She has nurtured her music career to the peak, from topping charts to manning global stages and clinching numerous accolades.

However, at this stage of her life, she doesn’t only think of music again as she has decided to explore other talents and gifts embedded in her. Tiwa Savage has now delved into the movie world to also make her mark as she stunned viewers with her incredible movie project “Water & Garri” where she debuted as an executive producer and lead actress.

With the amazing success the project garnered, she is encouraged to further her exploration into filmmaking and to also build a remarkable and enduring legacy in that genre.

Beyond music and filmmaking, Tiwa Savage is resolute in expanding her philanthropic lifestyle as she revealed the next plans targeted to helping female folks. In her latest conversation with Forbes Africa, she said “I really want to delve into my philanthropy. I want to start different NGOs [non-governmental organisations] to help women, to help young girls.’’

The 45-year-old has tagged this season of her life as her “mogul era” revealing her next financial status quo, she said,  “I want to go into my mogul era – billionaire Tiwa Savage.”
