Embattled American rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, has slammed NBCUniversal with a $100 million defamatory lawsuit over the release of their documentary, Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy. In the lawsuit filed in New York state court on Wednesday by Diddy’s legal team, he alleged that he was “maliciously accused” of killing his ex-wife, Kimberly Porter, though he had denied the allegation.

The documentary also accuses Diddy of committing heinous crimes including sexual assault of minors, and serial murder, among others, without substantial proof to buttress their claims.

Diddy’s lawyer, Erica Wolff, gave the details of the lawsuit in a statement released to Business Insider on Wednesday, saying “As described in today’s lawsuit, NBCUniversal Media, LLC, Peacock TV, LLC, and Ample LLC made a conscious decision to line their own pockets at the expense of truth, decency, and basic standards of professional journalism. Grossly exploiting the trust of their audience and racing to outdo their competition for the most salacious Diddy exposé.” At press time, the defendant has yet to respond to the lawsuit.

Recall that Diddy is still awaiting trial as he remains behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 14th, when he’ll face trial on new count charges that stem from an expanded indictment of his ongoing federal RICO case, in which he has consistently pleaded not guilty.
