Nigerian music doyen and Grammy winner, Burna Boy has just dropped a new single called ‘Update,’ which is released off his highly anticipated eighth album, ‘No Sign of Weakness.’
The ‘Common Person’ crooner released a dupe single on February 19, 2025, sampling American group Soul II Soul’s iconic record1989 Classic ‘Back to Life’. Burna Boy teased the single earlier on his Instagram account after he deleted all the posts from his feed in preparation for his next album.
The track produced by P2J features an arrangement of African folk drums, over which the hitmaker energetically boasts about his superstar status, claiming that he stands well above his contemporaries.
Burna Boy has been making waves in the Nigerian entertainment world and of course across the globe. The hitmaker recently made history by becoming the first artist to cover Billboard France Magazine.
In a recent interview, the self-acclaimed ‘Odogwu of Africa’ and multi-award-winning megastar spoke on the global success of Nigerian music and his role as a key player.
He has undoubtedly achieved incredible feats in his music career as he is the first Nigerian artist to have three albums surpass 500 million Spotify streams.
