Afrobeat superstar David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido, recently made a trip to the eastern African nation of Uganda where he was reportedly welcomed cheerfully while being celebrated as an icon in the music sphere especially with his performance at his TimelessKampala concert in Uganda.
Davido’s trip to Uganda was one with uncommonon realities even as the unfolding of events which were sequel to his arrival in Uganda were not just eventful but also colourful.
The multiple award winning and Grammy nominated singer arrived Uganda on Friday March 29 and with loads of enthusiasm, made an electrifying performance at the TimelessKampala concert – a celebration of his Timeless album with thousands of Ugandan fans who trooped out to spend the night with him at the Kololo Independence Grounds.
The concert which gained high media presence across hundreds of Ugandan blogs and radio stations also caused a buzz on the social space across a number of other African countries including Nigeria and South Africa.
It was indeed memorable especially with the turnout of events at the concert and the large crowd to which the singer performed on Friday night. Remarkably, fans were thrilled by Davido’s not-so-lengthy session with a little girl who he called on stage from the crowd.
The singer had reportedly spotted her in the crowd and brought her on stage as he danced energetically while performing one of his earlier released hit single “Champion sound” featuring South African amapiano singer, Focalistic. Both Davido and the little Ugandan fan while facing each other, danced to the amazing tune, synchronizing their dance steps and dispersed some hard-hitting energy in the video which quickly went viral.
The amazing moment captured the hearts of several music lovers who either attended the concert live or followed the livestream. Even those who watched the clip on the aftermath were equally mesmerized by the beautiful connection and energy that both the singer and his little fan shared.
Reacting, some fans have opined that the singer could easily connect with the little girl because of how much he craves to see his late son, Ifeanyi whose sad demise occured in November, 2023.

Moreso, the singer’s trip to Uganda where he reportedly toured a few other cities within the country before performing at the TimelessKampala concert Sponsored by I&M Bank Uganda, also saw the singer share the stage with some Ugandan artistes like Pallaso and Grenade Official.
A major highlight however, was the launch of the newly instituted Faculty of Music and Arts at the International University of East Africa (IUEA) in Kampala, Uganda.
The singer was also reportedly honoured with a special award with the inscription, ‘Davido Hall’ symbolising the dedication of a newly constructed hall in his honour on the university campus.
The remarkable occasion thus, validates Davido’s title as one of the Greatest Of All Times (GOAT).
