Afrorave sensation Divine Ikubor professionally known as Rema, has said that he is too big for fake PR.
This was as the singer disclosed that he does not have any new project (song) at the moment thereby, raising suspicion among fans that he might not release any project soon.
Rema stated these in a recent post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
Sharing a recent photo of himself, the singer, dressed in jean pants and a T-shirt underneath a jean jacket and posing with an iPhone 15 Pro max in his hands wrote:
“no new music. sorry. I’m Too big for fake PR bye!”
Earlier, the singer had raised controversy on the internet via series of posts on X, where he declared in one of the posts that there was no more a “Big 3” in the Nigerian music industry but a “Big 4.”
He wrote, “No more Big 3 there’s now a Big 4.”
This declaration suggests Rema putting himself on the same level as Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy who are oftentimes regarded as the Big 3 even though the question of who is bigger amongst the initial three still lingers.
In another post, Rema had also alleged that stylists working for some celebrities who he described as fake were sending mails to brands to receive clothes in his name.
The singer who did not mention any name warned such celebrities and their stylists to desist from doing so while threatening to confront them on stage during their performance and strip them off his belongings if they persist.
He wrote, “Tell your stylists to stop sending mails to brands with my name to get clothes imma pull up to your show and strip u on stage cuz that’s my shit HOE! fake celebrities, fake industry 🤮”
The singer further adviced record labels to get creative and stop trying to clone him even as he bragged about making afrobeat EP’s a big statement and how every new artist since 2019 ate from the same template.
“Labels get creative, stop trying to clone me,” he wrote.
Rema, in another post on X, expressed love for the new cycle of afro artists while highlighting some of their common attributes as the reason he loves them.
He listed such attributes as he wrote,
“They wanna live fast, they take the crazy advance, the music is fueled by pressure, then they dump it on y’all.
“The new age Afro cycle, I love it.”
The series of controversial posts made by Rema in one day however called for attention from many especially that the singer is not known for consistent engagements on social media.
Alongside the allegations of receiving clothes in his name and his declaration that there would not be any song from him soon, fans were left bewildered especially upon realization that the official X handle of the Mavins record label to which Rema is signed had previously announced that the singer would be dropping a new song soon.
Rema’s counter-claims however, appeared to many as just another deceptive PR strategy.
A user identified as @JBrandy commented saying “This tweet nah still PR.”
