Afrobeats superstar Shallipopi has dropped his first single for the year titled ‘Laho’. The Elon Musk crooner released the track on February 21, 2025, under his imprint, Plutomania Records Ltd.
Laho marked the first song Shallipopi has released since his break out from Dapper Music over alleged lack of financial transparency, conflict of interest, and an attempt to commit him to a forever contract.
The song first went viral on social media, especially TikTok after the Obapluto singer teased about the song. Eventually, Laho is released but not on all music platforms.
The song is only officially available on Apple Music with Shallipopi’s Spotify profile at the moment, failing to reflect his latest release. The actual reason why the song is still missing on major streaming platforms is not known yet as no official explanation has been given in that regard.
‘Laho’ comes off the back of his last single ‘Order’ featuring Olamide released in November 2024. The song is said to be one of the lead singles that will precede his next album scheduled for release sometime in 2025.
The next album is promised to be a banger as he has spoken so much about it and getting set to perform his magic of infusing Amapiano and hip-hop combined with his Benin-influenced slang and lyrics. The album is rumoured to have a guest appearance from American rapper Swae Lee.
